Today we were learning how to make a pop with science. It was the funniest time we had a blast.

Materials

• A Stand
  Test tube
  Boiling tube
  Sulfuric 
  Magnesium
  Safety glasses
  Matches
  Wooden splint

Steps

1. Wear safety glasses

2. Put the test tube onto the stand but not to tight (don’t break the test tube # Mr Stock)

3. Slightly tighten the stand so the test tube doesn’t come out

4. One squirt into the test tube one sausage finger deep

5. Put a 2 centrepiece of magnesium into the acid.

6. Hold your boiling tube on top of the test tube

7. After 1 minute set the splint on fire

8. Lift the boiling tube up without turning it and put the fire inside.

Mean median mode

In Homeroom and hurumanu 6 we have been learning mean, median and mode for me I was the first one done and it was really easy. It was a really fun task that we got to do but I hoped the questions were a lot harder. My favourite part of doing the mean, median and mode was the mode because it was the easiest one their I will show you how easy it was soon. My least favourite though was the median it was easy but i felt like it wasn't a challenge same with the mode.

This is an example of the mean. mean is where you add up all the numbers then divided by the numbers that are there

First, you add them all up all together they add up to 29 then you divide that by how many numbers there are that adds up to 4 so four is the answer.

This is an example of the median. median is the middle

You rearrange the number from lowest to highest and then find the middle that is the answer.

this is an example of mode. The mode is the most common number

You count the numbers and how many of that number is there so for this equation you have 9, 2, 3, and 8 you can have multiple or just one.

Today we learnt about what healthy and unhealthy relationships are.

Why is it important to have healthy relationships?

• Higher chance of the relationship lasting longer.

• Good desire to be with people this creates less stress.

• Better self-esteem, happier, positive

• Create a sense of purpose - learning.

Gold rush

For hurumanu 1 we have been learning about the gold rush that happened in the 1800s.

Becoming a Martian

1. When can a mission to or from mars happen? When mars and earth are at the closest orbit Why? Because it would make the flight easier and quicker.

2. What are two geological features of mars? Mars is known as the Red Planet because of its colour (caused by large amounts of iron oxide). Other features include polar ice caps, Olympus Mons (the largest volcano in the solar system), and Valles Marineris (one of the largest canyons in the solar system).

3. is one possible solution from the story about oxygen on mars? You could bring your own because the air on mars is to thin to breathe.

4. If it doesn’t rain on mars? Where does water come from? If you don’t have water you would usually purine your own pee to get water. But you would also find it underground.

5. How will people get food on mars? They will send it up by a rocket or an airdrop. What is a possible solution? You could send in a mini rocket with enough power to get to mars.

Muffins

 Today in cooking we made savoury muffins and they were not good

I think the muffins didn't taste good because they tasted really bad but I don't know what was wrong with the muffins but they were bad.

The texture of the muffins was nice and smooth but really doughy and disgusting. I think we should have added more time in the oven

The colour of the muffins is yellow.

I think my team worked badly until I changed groups.
