On Friday last week it was Matariki day and it was the celebration of learning. In the morning we went outside to go see the hangi it was a big square and it was 1 meter deep. We put down a hangi for the celebration of Matariki day. The most challenging bit about it was digging the pit. When we went outside Matua Sunny's brother told us how long it needed to burn and how long it takes to cook the hangi. The girls were in the hall pealing potato's and some boy's were helping with the pit.
